Post-Secondary Planning

Herndon Career Center utilizes multiple community, industry, and internal resources to make sure that your students have access to all information necessary to make educated decisions regarding their future after high school. Google Classroom is utilized as an ongoing resource and reminder system to reinforce the college application timeline. Herndon Career Center also partners with organizations such as the National Institute For Construction Excellence to send students to senior visit days and recruitment days with expert tradesmen in their field.

Several college, military, and trade/industry visits are organized both by individual teachers and the student services department to meet our students’ expansive and diverse needs. Students can expect to hear from the Metropolitan Community College system, State Technical College of Missouri, and the University of Missouri - Kansas City. A student survey is conducted annually to identify possible partnerships, and students are encouraged to request post-secondary visits they would like to see actualized.

College Board - This website is a fantastic resource for comparing colleges and accessing institutions with specific majors and programs.
